MP3 files are distinguished as having both high compression and relatively high quality-- allowing music fans to download and access their preferred songs in large quantities. Depending on your MP3 player (iPod, Zune, Zen), the process for downloading and adding music may differ but the following guidelines apply to almost al MP3 players.

Things You'll Need:

  • USB Connection
  1. Step 1

Power on your computer and connect your MP3 player via an empty USB port.

  2. Step 2

Power on your MP3 player. When it connects, the player should display a message indicating it is connected to the computer.

  3. Step 3

Use your preferred method to download music onto your MP3 player. Some MP3 players come with manufacturer software that can be used to download MP3 files onto your player. Otherwise, you can use a program like Windows Media Player to access and download MP3 files from your computer to your MP3 player.

  4. Step 4

Copy and organize your music onto your MP3 player. Consult your player's manual or manufacturer support page for how to organize MP3 files into folder and playlists.

  5. Step 5

Disconnect your MP3 player using the "Safely Remove Hardware" function. Enjoy your music.
