How to Wash Lacrosse Equipment

Lacrosse players use a variety of equipment when playing a game. And because lacrosse can be played outdoors in the rain and mud, your lacrosse equipment can quickly become soiled. As with other sports equipment, lacrosse equipment does not come cheap. For this reason, you'll want to be careful when washing your lacrosse equipment so that you don't ruin it. By using these tips, you will be able to effectively and safely wash your lacrosse equipment.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any dirt and other particles from your lacrosse equipment. You can do this by wiping the equipment off with a dry towel or by gently hitting the equipment (such as when removing dust from a rug). Removing these hardened particles will make washing your lacrosse equipment much easier.

    • 2

Fill up a sink or bathtub with warm water. The water shouldn't be steaming hot.

    • 3

Add a half-cup to a full cup of the mild laundry detergent. How much you add will be determined by how much equipment you are washing, how dirty that equipment is and whether you are washing the lacrosse equipment in a sink or a bathtub.

    • 4

Soak the lacrosse equipment for roughly 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how dirty the equipment is.

    • 5

Remove the lacrosse equipment from the water. Wipe off the equipment with a dry, clean towel. Doing this can help to remove any dirt or mud that remains.

    • 6

Rinse the equipment to remove any excess soap.

    • 7

Allow the lacrosse equipment to air dry by hanging the equipment outside for about 30 minutes. You can also dry the equipment by hanging it in front of a fan.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a tablespoon or two of liquid fabric softener during Step 3 to eliminate odors.
