First Holy Communion is an important milestone in many Christian denominations. You'll want everything about the day to be perfect, from the invitations to the party. Here's how to make invitations for your Holy Communion event.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Printer-compatible invitation paper (typically white or cream) Coordinating envelopes Word-processing program or card-design program
  1. Step 1

Choose your paper. Invitations are typically one page, unfolded. Select paper that is roughly 4 by 6 or 5 by 8 inches, as this will give you enough room for your invitation text and will go easily through your printer. Make sure you have envelopes that will fit the invitations.

  2. Step 2

Decide on your invitation wording. You might use, "Please join us in celebrating [name here} as she receives her first Holy Communion."

  3. Step 3

Confirm details such as the time, date and location of the service. If a party will follow, make sure to confirm those details as well.

  4. Step 4

Optional: Find appropriate clip art. Some possibilities include a cross or a wine chalice.

  5. Step 5

Enter the text, logistics (time, date, location) and clip art using your word processor or card-making program. Don't forget an RSVP phone number and date, if appropriate.

  6. Step 6

Set the paper size. This should be easy in a card-making program. In a word processor, you may find this under "Printer: Settings" or "Page Layout."

  7. Step 7

Go to "Page Layout" in your word processor and use the margins to center your design on the page horizontally and vertically. Card-making programs usually have a simple way to center text on a page.

  8. Step 8

Print a sample page on regular paper. Check for typos and layout. Compare it against your paper, but remember that the different page sizes may keep your invitation's text and images from lining up correctly.

  9. Step 9

Print one copy on your invitation paper to make sure everything is aligned properly.

  10. Step 10

If everything looks okay, print the rest of the invitations. Although you can print many at once, you may want to feed one sheet of invitation paper into the printer at a time to avoid jamming.
