How to Prepare for Interview Questions
For a job searcher, the call to set up an interview is the beginning of an opportunity to secure a new position or even begin a new career. Going into an interview without adequate preparation, however, can have disastrous results for you and may even give the interviewer the impression that you were not serious enough or interested enough to do your homework. Taking the time to do the research will ensure that you are well-prepared, giving the interviewer a positive impression and increasing your chances of success.

1
When you are speaking with the interview scheduler, write down the precise address of the interview site as well as the name and title of the person with whom you will be meeting. Research the route to the interview site, including the travel time required. Make a practice run to the site prior to the interview date.
-
2
Research the company. Read news articles, review its website and speak with other employees if possible.
-
-
3
Plan and prepare your interview outfit ahead of time. Your clothes should be cleaned and pressed. If it is necessary to use a cleaning service, be sure the clothes will be ready to pick up the day before your interview.
-
4
Rehearse the answer to "Tell me about yourself," a common interview ice-breaker. Prepare information about your professional background and experience, as well as your goals.
-
5
Prepare responses to typical interview questions such as inquiries to relationships with co-workers, what your supervisor would say about your work style and an example of a conflict resolution.
-
6
Plan your follow-up, and a well-prepared note thanking the interviewer, sent within 24 hours of your interview either via email or regular mail.

Tips & Warnings
Overdress rather than take the chance of under-dressing. If most people in the company wear jeans to work, wear business casual to the interview.
Don't take anything for granted when preparing. Don't assume you know how to get to the interview location or know all you need to about the company without some research and planning.
