How to Achieve the Perfect Body

To achieve the perfect body, you must first determine what a perfect body is. There is no point in wishing that you were taller since no amount of work will make you taller. Likewise, it is pointless to wish that you had a body type that is not possible for your frame. A perfect body is the very best that you can be. We all have to work with what we have. Make the most of it and you will achieve the perfect body.

Set realistic goals. You may never be a supermodel or Mr. Olympia, but you can have a narrow waist, toned legs and defined muscles. Achieving the perfect body is done in steps. Setting goals keeps you motivated. Start with losing a few pounds, then move on to building strength and finish with making your body rock hard.

Start slowly. The worst thing you can do is drastically change your lifestyle then immediately get discouraged and quit. Make manageable changes in your life like cutting out fried food and going to the gym 3 days per week. As you start achieving goals, increase your dedication. Try eliminating alcohol and exercising 6 days per week. Avoid doing anything that will give you an excuse to stop working on the perfect body.

Eat differently. Do not consider what you eat a "diet." This suggests that your food choices are temporary. To achieve the perfect body you must adopt a different lifestyle. This means saying goodbye to regular junk food binges forever. You must dedicate yourself to a disciplined regimen of whole grains, lean protein and healthy omega-3 fats. Every time you shove a Twinkie in your mouth you get that much farther away from a perfect body. You must always eat healthy.

Live an active lifestyle. People with perfect bodies tend to be active. You do not get a perfect body lying on the couch. Become a person who walks or bikes to the store instead of drives. Choose to go hiking or swimming on the weekend instead of seeing a movie. Do your own housework instead of hiring someone else to do it. The more you move, the closer you'll be to achieving your perfect body.

Sculpt your body with weights. This is the only proven method of redistributing mass on a body. Lifting weights increases muscle mass. This tightens the skin around the muscles. Bigger muscles also burn more calories. This shrinks fat cells. While lifting weights for a particular part of a body will not cause you to lose fat in that part, weight training of the entire body will cause you to lose fat all over your body.

Consider cosmetic surgery. It can make bodies larger in some places and smaller in others. It is also expensive, painful and potentially dangerous. Some people see cosmetic surgery as a last resort to achieve the perfect body while others view it as an artificial shortcut. It is a matter of personal choice.
