How to Remove Songs From Windows Media Player

So you have a treasure trove of songs on your Windows Media Player, but there are a number of tracks you want to chuck. Don't worry; removing individual songs from your playlist is as easy as pie. Some simple steps are all it takes to weed out the unwanted tunes.

Instructions

  1. Deleting Tracks on Windows Media Player

    • 1

Open the Windows Media Player from your "Start" menu or your desktop.

    • 2

Click on the track you want to take out of the library. You can hold the Control key (PC) or the Command key (Mac) to choose multiple tracks at once.

    • 3

Once the desired tracks are highlighted, press the delete key. It's just that simple!

NOTE: A conformation/warning pop-up will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the track from the computer, as well as from the playlist. Unless you are sure you never want to hear this song again, take the conservative route and keep the track on the computer. If you want to re-add it to the playlist at another time, you merely have to search your hard drive for the song title and import it back into the player.
