How to Make Presents for Your Mother's Birthday
Mothers provide care for their families and they rarely ask for anything in return. It may be a challenge to think of what to give mom, but she will appreciate most of all the thought behind whatever you choose to give her. By working on the presentation, you can make even a cheap gift look valuable in her eyes.

Create a gift package as the main present. Take a medium-size wicker basket and tie ribbons on the handle. Place gift towels at the bottom, then fill it up with her favorite goodies. These may include wine, boxes of her favorite crackers or pastry, chocolates, coffee or tea, and fruits. It doesn't have to be expensive nor does it have to be filled with food; just make sure your message that you thought about her gets across. Other things you may add to your main present include jewelry, books or purses. Gifts can also be ornamental like keepsake figurines, or something useful at home, like a sewing toolbox. Don't forget to write "Happy Birthday" on the gift tag.

Buy flowers. Choose a bouquet with bright colors to enliven your gift. Wrap the stems with the same ribbon color you used for the gift basket. If you can, pick her favorite flowers to make your gift notable. You may also arrange flowers yourself. Take her favorite flowers, add baby breath flowers as embellishment to the bouquet, and tie it together with your ribbon.

Design the card and write the letter. Take a piece of paper, fold it in half, and use a criss-cut scissors to design the edges. On the card, write a short message or poem to your mom. You can gather your whole family and have each of them sign the card. To design the front of the card, you need pressed flowers. Take some petals and set them on a table. Place a sheet of paper towel over them, then take a 3-inch thick book and place it above the paper towel, pressing the flowers. After a day or two, let them dry outside before gluing them on the card. Be imaginative when designing the card, you may also use ribbons to complement the pressed flowers.

Attach the card to the gift basket and tie it with a ribbon. Again, select a ribbon that matches your gift wrap to complete your gift. This is a nice finishing touch to the gift because it completes it and give it elements that go together. In addition, ribbons make gifts look elegant.
