Step 1
Always jog outdoors. Running on a treadmill or inside on a track will get tedious fast. By exercising outdoors, and changing up your route, you will always have something interesting to look at while you jog.
-
Step 2
Pace yourself with other joggers. If you workout in a area frequented by other joggers, try to catch up to someone ahead of you.
-
Step 3
Time your jogs. Instead of just running aimlessly, use a stop watch to gauge the amount of time you take to complete a route. The next time you try the same path, try to improve your previous time.
-
Step 4
Plan time for sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups and dips. Sit-ups and push-ups require nothing but a flat space, but pull-ups and dips require some extra materials. When you start of for your run, set a goal, such as 20 pull-ups, 50 sit-ups, 50 push-ups and 60 dips, that you want to get done during the run. While on route keep an eye out for a tree branch to do some pull-ups, a bench to do some dips, and a few flat areas to do push-ups and sit-ups. Not only will these exercises break the monotony of your jog, but constantly looking out for areas to work-out will occupy yourself as well.
