How to Create a Hannah Montana Doll
At one time it was fairly common for little girls to lovingly accept homemade dolls. Today many little girls are impressed by trends and fads they see on television, and there is a way to combine popular trends with homemade ingenuity to create what might be your little girl's most favorite doll. If your little girl would love a Hannah Montana doll, you can easily make her one.

1
Plan to create a fabric, stuffed doll. Basically, what you will be doing is finding an image of Hannah Montana's face online. That image will be used to create an iron-on image which will be ironed onto the face of the doll, before the fabric is sewn and stuffed to create the doll. When choosing a doll pattern, you want one where you will be able to iron on the image.
-
2
Make your own doll pattern if you don't have one. Do this by drawing a simple outline of a human body on a piece of muslin fabric. Cut out two pieces of muslin fabric in this shape. Eventually the two pieces will be sewn together along the outer borders with a ¼-inch seam, leaving a small hole to add stuffing. One piece of fabric will be the back of the doll, and the other piece will be the front of the doll. Be generous in the width of the legs, arms and body, as it will shrink once the two pieces are sewn together and be difficult to stuff.

3
Measure the side of the doll's face. Do not sew the doll together yet. You will first need to add the Hannah Montana face. After you measure the face portion, you will know how large of an image you will need to print out.
-
4
Find an image of Hannah Montana's face online. Use Google's search image feature and search for Hannah Montana. When you find the face you want to use, click on the image to enlarge it and copy it to your computer. Look for the largest image size possible. A small image, such as 100 pixels, will not work well.
-
5
Resize the image so that when you print it from the computer it will fit perfectly as the face on your doll. Test print on regular paper. If you need to enlarge the image, look for another image online. Enlarging the smaller image will make an inferior image.
-
6
Test print the image on regular paper. When you are able to print a clear, crisp, picture, at the desired size, you are ready to print on the color-transfer paper.
-
7
Print the image of Hannah Montana's face onto color-transfer paper. This paper can be purchased in most office supply stores, and is with the other specialty paper. It is commonly used when making t-Shirt transfers.
-
8
Cut along the face image, removing the excess paper and leaving a 1/4-inch border. This additional border will make it easier to pull off the transfer paper after the image has been ironed onto the fabric.
-
9
Iron the transfer onto the face portion of the doll's fabric. Use a hard surface, as opposed to an ironing board for a better application. Follow the instructions of the color-transfer paper you purchased.
-
10
Finish the doll as mentioned in Step 2, or follow the instructions of the pattern you used. Add clothes and yarn hair to the doll to complete the project.

Tips & Warnings
The face will be a "mirror image." If you do not want a mirror image, reverse the image in an editing program before printing on the color-transfer paper. Make a "blond" yarn wig for the doll, as Hannah Montana wears a long blond wig when she entertains.
