How to Tie a Wedding Bow
Bows can make simple yet elegant decorations for weddings and receptions. You can make wedding bows from just about any type of ribbon, whether it is made of satin, organza or velvet. Round bows made from a series of loops work well for decorating wedding packages or accenting flowers and displays, while large, simple bows made from extra wide ribbon or fabric sashes work well for decorating pews and chairs. Tie a Wedding Bow
-
1
Make a loop in the end of the ribbon, about half the size you want the finished bow to be.
-
2
Pinch the ends of the loop together, and make another loop the same size in the opposite direction.
-
-
3
Continue making loops the same way, stacking them on top of each other, until you have about eight loops, or enough to make a full bow. You can make all the loops the same size, or make each set of loops smaller than the loops below it.
-
4
Wrap a piece of bow wire around the center of the loops. Twist the ends of the bow wire together on the underside of the loops, and cut off any excess wire. Cut the end of the ribbon.
-
5
Fluff out the bow by gently pulling the loops away from each other.

6
Choose two pieces of ribbon or sash fabric, each about eight inches wide and three yards long.
-
7
Fold each end of one ribbon over to meet the middle, forming two loops.
-
8
Grab both looped ends of the ribbon and cross them over each other. Wrap one ribbon loop around the other and pull it through. Continue pulling gently until the ribbon tightens into a bow.
-
9
Wrap the other piece of ribbon or fabric around the center of the bow. Make sure the ends of the ribbon are of equal length.
-
10
Tie this ribbon around the center of the bow to make the tails. To do this, cross the ends of the ribbon, then wrap one ribbon around the other and pull until the ribbon is snug against the bow.

Fluff out the bow and attach it to a chair or pew using a pew clip, available from the website linked below.
