How to Make Recipe Cards
You might have a pile of hand written recipes and recipes clipped from the backs of boxes or out of the newspaper. In order to organize these, you need to make recipe cards so that all of these recipes can be stored in a single recipe box. 1
Copy each recipe onto a 3-by-5 inch index card. You can write on either side, but keep in mind that if you are using unlined cards, you might want to use a ruler to keep your lines straight.
-
2
Organize your cards into piles based upon type of dish (Appetizer, Main dish, Dessert), or by any other organizational method you prefer. For example, you could also arrange your cards by country of origin (France, Mexico, America), original source (newspaper, Grandma, cookbook), or just a straight alphabetical organization of all the recipes.
