A Belkin Wireless Router allows users to connect multiple computers to the same Internet connection. Unlike many wireless routers, the Belkin router is fairly easy to configure. The router is a plug and play type that needs no manual computer configuration to hook-up to an Internet connection. However, the configuration steps need to be followed in a specific order, this allows the modem and router to set-up and begin communicating with each other before attempting to connect to the Internet.

  2. Step 2

Plug the Ethernet cable into the number one port on the back of the Belkin Wireless router marked "To Your Computer."

  3. Step 3

Plug in the other Ethernet cable into your computer's modem. Plug the other end into the Belkin Wireless Router port marked "To Modem."

  6. Step 6

Open a web browser on your computer to see if you are connected to the Internet. If you are, you have configured the wireless router and can now attach other computers to it. If you cannot get on the Internet, unplug the modem and router and wait ten minutes before repeating the configuration steps.
