How to Put Contacts on an iPod nano

While the main function of an iPod nano may be to play back music, you can store a variety of information on the device, including contacts. Your iPod nano can sync with your address book and then send the names, email addresses and phone numbers of your contacts to your iPod, where you can then view the information on the display.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mac or PC computer iPod nano iPod USB cable
  1. Step 1

    Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of the iPod nano.

  2. Step 2

    Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on your Mac or PC computer.

  3. Step 3

    Open the iTunes application by using the Dock on a Mac or the Start menu on a PC.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the name of your iPod Nano under the "Devices" list in the main iTunes window.

  5. Step 5

    Go to the "Contacts" tab at the top of the iTunes window.

  6. Step 6

    Check the box next to "Sync Address Book Contacts" and click the "Apply" button. Your iPod will now be synced with your computer and all contacts will be transferred to your iPod nano.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that there is enough free space on the hard drive of your iPod nano before trying to transfer contact data.
