Do you have a new Internet security program that you would like to install? Maybe you have an updated version of Norton Internet Security you would like to install on your computer. First you will need to uninstall the Norton program you currently have on your computer. This process will take a few minutes of your time, but doesn't require you to have any special computer skills in order to remove the program.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click on the "Start" menu on the bottom left corner of your computer screen. When the "Start" menu pops up go the right hand column and double click on the icon that says "Control Panel". Wait for the control panel screen to open up on your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Locate the icon that says "Add" or "Remove" programs in the "Control Panel" screen. Double click on the "Add" or "Remove" programs icon to open up the "Add" or "Remove" programs window.

  3. Step 3

    Scan through the list of programs once the window opens up. The programs will be listed in alphabetical order, so you should be able to find Norton Internet Security program under "N" for Norton.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the Norton Internet Security Suite program. This will highlight the program to let you know that it has been selected.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the "Uninstall" or "Remove Software" button to the right of the highlighted program. This will begin the initiation of the uninstall process.

  6. Step 6

    Select "Yes" from the prompt that will pop up asking you if you are sure you want to go ahead with the uninstall. Another command prompt will appear asking if you want to repair the program or remove the program. Select remove the program.

  7. Step 7

    Follow the on screen prompts to keep the process moving along. Once these are done the computer will automatically begin to remove Norton Internet Security program. A message will appear on your computer to let you know when the program is done uninstalling.

  8. Step 8

    Restart your computer. Restarting your computer will remove and clear away any of the files still remaining on the computer.
