How to Create a Free Web Page in Google

Google sites allow you to create and host websites for free even if you have no experience with html. You can create a family website for fun or even open an online business. You can customize the design of the site and upload pictures to give it a personal look.

Instructions

1. 

   Go to the URL sites.google.com. If you already have a Google account, you can log in with that same username and password. If you don't have a google account, click the "Create an account" option.

2. 

   Choose "Create new site" to begin creating your website.

3. 

   Select a name for your site and the URL, which is the web address. A URL looks like http://sites.google.com/site/thenameyouchoose. The URL and the site title need not be the same. You will also choose the background color and theme in this step. This is your opportunity to give your site a personal touch.

4. Click "Edit Page" near the top of the page to add content to your front page. You can then choose different fonts, font sizes, and colors using the toolbar. Use the "Insert" menu to insert pictures, links to other web pages, a table of contents or other features. Be sure to click "Save" before exiting the page.

5. Create other pages on your site by clicking "Create new page." When you create a new page, it will be listed on the sidebar of the main page. Edit these additional pages using the same procedure as for the main page.

Tips & Warnings

• Your site will look more professional and be better received if your text is free of typos or grammatical errors.

• If you don't want your full name to show up in search engines like Google or Yahoo, use only your first name or a nickname on the site.
