Instructions

    • 1

Cut open the avocado and mix with the olive oil and mayonnaise. Olive oil has been used for centuries to moisten everything from baby skin to old people's hair. Use olive oil in small amounts though, because your hair follicles cannot absorb it if you drench them in it. They may not be able to breathe if you put too much on and then you'll ultimately get the opposite result from what you want.

Comb any tangles out of your hair before you begin and divide it into four sections with a rat-tail comb. You need to separate the sections so that you can be sure to apply the solution evenly to all sections of hair.

    • 3

Put on the gloves and apply the mixture to each section of hair with an applicator brush. You can purchase these at any beauty supply store. It's best if you use more of the mixture rather than less. You may need to make more if your hair is exceptionally thick or long. Make sure that you apply the mixture evenly and cover your head with a shower cap or warm, moist towel when finished.

    • 4

Let your hair sit under the shower cap or towel for one hour. This will give the hair follicles maximum time to absorb the natural moisturizing properties of the solution. Your natural body heat (which escapes through your head) will also heat up the solution and allow for greater absorption.

    • 5

Wash your hair as normal and style accordingly. You can blow dry your hair, but it's probably best not to use heat that is too high as this will start the process of creating overly dry hair all over again. You can repeat the process once a week and your hair will be beautiful in no time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stay away from products that claim to moisturize but just add a surface layer to your hair. The moisturization won't last and you may become just another slave to false advertising.
