How to Make a Video Your Screen Saver on a Mac

In the time it takes to download and install Movie Screen Saver, you can turn your favorite video into a screen saver for your Mac. The quantity of videos you queue up and playback settings are all determined by you.

      Go to the Apple website. In the "Search" box on the upper right-hand side of the page, type "Move Screensaver 2.0."

      Click on the result which reads "Apple-Downloads-Icons, Screensavers-Movie Screen Saver." It should be the first on the list.

      Locate the "Download" button beneath the "Download Details" and click it.

    Installation

      Double-click the .dmg file. Copy the MSS.scr or MSS.saver file to "Macintosh HD > Users > Username > Library > Screen Savers."

      Open "System Preferences." Click the "Desktop and Screen Saver" icon. Click the "Screen Saver" tab. Select "MSS" from the "Screen Savers" menu.

      Click the "Options" button below the demo screen to open your Movie Screen Saver settings.

      Add a movie to your playlist by pressing the "+" button. Remove them by pressing the "-" button.

      Select sound, order of playback, fade out effects and other options from this window.

      Enter the license code when prompted.
