How to Make Your Own Candy Wrappers
Creating your own candy wrappers allows you to customize a tasty gift, commemorate a special occasion with a personalized touch, advertise for your business, or even give a political campaign a boost. Wrap your own homemade candy or rewrap candy you have purchased at the store. Whatever the size and shape of the candy or the nature of the occasion, you can tailor a candy wrapper to fit your needs.

1
Find the right size for your cellophane. The cellophane only needs to wrap around the body of the candy, without any hanging over the sides. There should be enough overlap on the bottom to completely cover the candy. Experiment until you find the right size, and then use your X-Acto blade and the straight edge of the ruler to cut enough cellophane pieces for your candy with several extras in case some of them do not quite fit.

2
Find the right size for your rice paper. These are the outside labels, and should be big enough to twist the ends to close and overlap on the bottom with plenty of coverage. Measure the dimensions of the wrapper, design labels on your printer, and print them out. Print more than enough labels for your batch of candy.

Use the X-Acto blade and the straight edge of your ruler to cut out the labels. Wrap each piece of candy in cellophane, and then wrap it in the rice paper labels, twisting the ends to close.

Tips & Warnings
After you have designed your labels, do a test run with one sheet before you commit to printing the whole batch. If you don't want to print a design, you can also purchase rice paper in colorful patterns or use gift wrap. You can also wrap larger candy in candy foil and top off with a custom label printed on printer label sheets. Wax paper can be used instead of cellophane.
Always use X-Acto blades on a cutting mat, and be careful not to cut yourself.
