How to Clean Hot Tub Jets
Once you have your hot tub set up, it only needs to be drained and cleaned every three months. That means you will need to clean it four times per year. One of the parts of the hot tub that need to be cleaned is the jets. If you don't keep the jets cleaned, they will not work properly. The easiest way to remember to clean your hot tub is to mark your calendar on the days that the seasons officially change. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Get out your bathtub cleaner and clean your hot tub with it. You will need a clean hot tub before you begin working on cleaning the jets.
-
2
Turn your hot tub water knob to hot and fill the hot tub up. Stick a thermometer (a food thermometer will work) into the hot tub water and make sure the temperature is at least 140 degrees F.
-
-
3
Measure 1 cup of bleach and pour it in the hot tub while it is filling up with hot water. Then add 1/8 cup of dish soap to the running water.
-
4
Turn your hot tub jets on after the hot tub has completely filled up. Let them run for 15 minutes before draining.
-
5
Rinse out any leftover cleaner by filling the tub a second time and running the jets for another 15 minutes.
-
6
Drain the hot tub again and then clean it with bathtub cleaner like you did in the beginning.

Tips & Warnings
The hot tub water will be hot enough to burn you. Be careful and allow it to cool off before reaching in and unplugging the drain.
Oil-based bath salts and bubble baths can cause damage to hot tub jets. Don't use them if you can help it.

Isn't there an easier wqay to clean the jets than draining the tub three times? That's a 24 hour investment in my busy schedule, and I thought a tub was all about relaxation and fun, (although I do realize there needs to be some cleaning diciplines.) cleaning chores.) -
