How to Use the Dock Adapter for an IPod Nano

Every new iPod Nano comes with a plastic dock adapter, specially designed to fit your iPod Nano. If you own a standard iPod Dock, you can attach the iPod Nano dock adapter to it to make it easier to charge your device or connect it to outgoing video cables. If you want to use a different iPod with your dock, you can take out the iPod Nano adapter and replace it with another model.

Things You'll Need:

  • iPod Nano iPod Nano dock adapter iPod Dock iPod USB cable Power adapter (optional) Video cables (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Remove the standard dock adapter from your iPod dock.

  2. Step 2

    Insert the iPod Nano dock adapter into the dock so that the iPod connector fits through the hole of the adapter.

  3. Step 3

    Place the iPod Nano into the dock so that it sits comfortable in the dock adapter.

  4. Step 4

    Plug the iPod USB cable into the back of the dock.

  5. Step 5

    Connect the other end of the iPod USB cable to your computer or an iPod power adapter to charge your iPod Nano.

  6. Step 6

    Connect the outgoing video cables to the back of the iPod dock and then attach the other end to your television to watch your iPod content on your TV.
