Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Colors Markers Paint and brushes Stickers Stamps Glitter Glue Red, white and blue embellishments Wooden boxes Hot glue Newspapers Chinese food boxed Ribbons
  1. Step 1

Make a list of supplies. Brainstorm decorations and ideas to include on your decorative box. Traditional 4th of July symbols include the American flag, fireworks, Liberty Bell, Uncle Sam, stars, and the colors red, white and blue. Consider using paint, markers, glitter, stickers, stamps or other embellishments on your 4th of July decorative box. Know how many boxes you are making before going to the craft store, and take your list of ideas along.

  2. Step 2

Put down newspaper so if paint drips, it won't get on the floor or cabinet. Allow the paint to dry. Add stickers, glitter and jewels to make your box stand out.

  3. Step 3

Decorate the box for a specific purpose. Use decorative boxes to hold napkins for 4th of July parties. Consider using them as the table centerpieces with flowers, candles or a small snack to nibble on. Place on the service table with a small food item, condiment or mints. Put Styrofoam in the bottom of the boxes, and stick American flags in them. Place these around your house for the 4th of July or use as decorations for a party.
