Instructions

    • 1

Wash any remaining food residue out with hot, soapy water. You won't need to dry the bottles and jars to proceed.

    • 2

Allow the jar to soak for at least 15 minutes in very hot water. This will loosen the label and soften the adhesive.

    • 3

Remove the label. If it has been soaking, it may have fallen off already, or will readily lift up and off without leaving too many scraps behind.

    • 4

Use the scratcher to work off the remaining adhesive, which should be softened up enough after soaking. At this point, it should be easily removable without applying much pressure. Continue this process until the surface is free of the glue.

    • 5

Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. If there is any remaining glue, apply adhesive remover and allow it to soak in to the residue. Use the scratcher again to wipe off the remaining glue. Wash the jar thoroughly with more hot, soapy water and allow it to dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • For particularly stubborn glue spots, you can use a razor blade to scrape away the residue.

  • Don't wash dishes in the same water that contains any of the adhesive remover.

The sound of "Goo (B) Gone" on a wine bottle (or other glass container to be used again for food/drink)just sounds ghastly. To share a trick, do your normal hot soapy soak to get the label off. For the "NASA" grade adhesives that may be left, use a razor (scripto, or exacto helps) to scrap the adhesive off. The trick to make this really easy, frequently dip the razor into dish detergent. This helps keep the glue from resticking to the container. Works Great! Kethler
