How to Print Change of Address Cards

If you are in the process of moving or have already done so, there is an easy way to alert all of your contacts. Make change-of-address postcards on your computer, printing as many as you require. The cards can include as little or as much information as you choose. Once you have printed them, all you will need to do is address them to your contacts and mail them. A bonus is that postcards are less expensive to mail than envelopes.

Things You'll Need

• Computer Word processing program Printer Card stock Scissors

Instructions

1. 

   Open your word processing program such as Microsoft Word or Works or Corel WordPerfect. Open a new blank document.

2. 

   Create a text box on the page. Format the text box to measure 4 inches high and 6 inches wide. In most word processing programs you can click on a border of the text box and drag it to the size you need.

3. 

   Insert a clip art graphic, generally from the "Insert" menu, into the text box. Size the picture to about a 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches square. Again, you should be able to resize the picture by dragging a corner or border. Center it on the left side of the text box.

4. 

   Type "We've Moved" or "Our New Address" directly beneath the graphic on the left of the text box. Beneath that, type in your family's name, your new address, and any other information that has changed, such as your phone number or email address.

5. 

   Copy the text box by clicking on it, right-clicking and selecting "Copy." Right-click the blank area below the text box, and click "Paste" to add a second card to the page. Print as many pages as you need onto card stock, but do not cut them out just yet.

6. 

   Delete the text and graphics inside each of the text boxes. Insert another clip art graphic into each text box, dragging or otherwise resizing them to fit the length and width of the text boxes. Print these images on the reverse side of the cards printed in Step 5. Cut the postcards out, address them and mail them with proper postage.

Tips & Warnings

• Use a postcard template and change the graphics to make it even easier.
