How to Unlock an LG Chocolate Cell Phone
Locking your LG Chocolate cell phone is necessary so the phone won't accidentally dial someone in your pocket or purse. But to accept a call from a locked phone, you'll need to know how to quickly unlock your keys. There are two important methods to learn: how to unlock the automatic key lock and how to unlock the coded security lock.

Unlocking the Automatic Key Lock

To receive calls without sliding open your LG Chocolate phone, you must first unlock the automatic key lock, which engages when your phone is closed.

Locate the automatic lock button on the right side of the phone. It's the middle button between the three on the right side and will be marked with a small padlock icon.

With phone closed, slide the button down with your thumb. This will unlock a locked phone (use the same motion to lock an unlocked phone).

When an LG Chocolate phone is locked, an "unlock" option will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. Press the right soft key (the illuminated red line on the right) to select it.

Enter your four-digit security code. By default, it's the last four digits of your phone number. If you have personalized a lock code, enter the new code instead of the default.

To lock your phone again, press the center of the navigation wheel (it will be marked "OK" in newer models) to select "Menu." Push the bottom of the wheel (or rotate it clockwise as if you are using an iPod) to scroll down and select "Settings & Tools." Scroll down and select "Phone settings," then "Security."

Select "Lock Phone Now." From here, you can also personalize your lock code by clicking "Edit Codes." Alternatively, select "Reset Default" to restore the original code.

Always save the user's manual for your cell phone, just in case. Keep your default lock code to avoid the hassles of forgetting a personalized code. If you must change it, make sure you choose something you are likely to remember. Write it down and file it. Always slide the LG Chocolate phone closed carefully.
