Things You'll Need:
- 1 yard of fleece material in a print 1 yard of fleece material in a coordinating solid Scissors Yard stick or ruler
-
Step 1
Lay the fleece material on top of each with wrong sides together. Pin about 5 inches in from each edge to hold pieces together. Trim around the edges of both pieces of material so they are of equal size.
-
Step 2
Cut a piece of cardboard or paper into a 4-inch square. Lay the cardboard or paper on one corner of your material; using as a pattern cut out a 4-inch square from the corner. Repeat for each corner.
-
Step 3
Lay a yardstick or place a piece of masking tape across one side of the material in 4 inches from the edge; use this as a guide to keep the strips even lengths. Cut 4-inch long by 1-inch wide strips through both layers around the edge of the material; start at the left edge, measure 1 inch in from the edge, and cut up 4 inches. Work across to the right. Repeat for each side of the material.
-
Step 4
Tie the strips together. Start with the far left strips on one side of the material, use a balloon knot to tie together; the balloon knot is the same as how the end of a balloon is tied off. Hold the two strips of coordinating material together, wrap the strips around the first two fingers on your left hand, bring the loose ends of the strips through the loop you made and pull downward to tighten. The ends can also be tied as if tying shoelaces; double knot the ends to hold securely.
