How to Make the Perfect Dirty Martini

Martinis have been a classic cocktail for years. Over time, the classic martini has been added to and adapted to make are variety of flavorful drinks served in the traditional martini glass. Though martinis now come in a variety of flavors and colors, the dirty martini has remained a classic favorite. With the proper recipe and a few simple steps, anyone can learn how to make the perfect dirty martini.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cocktail shaker with strainer and lid Ice Chilled martini glass Premium gin High quality dry vermouth Orange bitters Jar of green olives in brine
  1. Step 1

    Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Step 2

    Pour 3 parts of premium gin over the ice.

  3. Step 3

    Add ¼ part of high quality dry vermouth to the cocktail shaker.

  4. Step 4

    Pour 2 dashes of orange bitters into the mixture in the cocktail shaker.

  5. Step 5

    Add a dash of olive brine from the jar of green olives.

  6. Step 6

    Place the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake the mixture until condensation forms on the outside of the cocktail shaker.

  7. Step 7

    Pour the martini through a strainer into a chilled martini glass. Use the strainer to prevent any ice from falling into the glass.

  8. Step 8

    Garnish the martini with two green olives.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use premium ingredients to make the best tasting dirty martini. To make a vodka martini, replace the premium gin with premium vodka.
  • Dirty martinis are alcoholic beverages. Enjoy dirty martinis responsibly.
