How to Identify Fake Movado Watches
Movado, which means "always in motion," is one of the leading names in luxury watches. The Movado watch is prized for its simple yet innovative design as well as its accurate movement. It is not surprising that there are many fake Movado watches on the market. Although the exterior of a fake Movado watch may look similar to the real thing, there is no doubt that the performance will be a disappointment. While many suppliers of these fakes are very clever in their design, there are ways the savvy consumer can identify fake Movado watches. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

-
1
Compare the price of the watch among a sampling of retailers. Movado watches will never be deeply discounted or sold in fire sales.
-
2
Look for mistakes in grammar and spelling on the dial and back of the case. Often English is not the first language of workers in replica factories. Errors such as these will always indicate a fake product.
-
-
3
Check that the watch winds smoothly with no catches or movement in the case. Movado watches are famous for their well-engineered design and will perform flawlessly.
-
4
Study the crown for any signs of glue or uneven edges.
-
5
Use a jeweler's loupe or magnifying glass to scrutinize the dial and date wheel for any sign of irregular printing of the logo, fuzziness of type or bleeding between letters. The Movado logo should be printed in all caps and only slightly larger than the other lettering.
-
6
Check the watch for dust, fingerprints or hair. A genuine Movado watch will be free of all contaminants.

Tips & Warnings
Take your time when you are shopping for a luxury Movado watch. If something does not feel right about the watch or the situation, you should go with your gut feeling.
Be particularly aware of the pitfalls of buying Movado watches online where you cannot scrutinize the timepiece for the telltale signs of a fake. Beware of online retailers only using stock photos or placing a newer-style watch in an old type box.

I'd love to get a fake movement inside my Movado. I sent it in for a battery replacement and Movado told me I needed a new movement @$530. How great is that for quality...the battery outlasted the movement.
