Instructions

    • 1

Pour a capful of vinegar into a quart of water.

    • 2

Slightly dampen a soft cloth and use it to wash the wood floor about once per week. Do not overly wet the cloth. Do not soak the floor with any cleaning solution.

    • 3

Keep the floor vacuumed and dusted. This will keep dirt from building up. Dirt that is allowed to accumulate will scratch the wood surface and will eventually damage the floor.

Alternatively, you could use polyurethane cleaner. These products are easily found at any hardwood flooring supplier. Look for a cleaner that is typically blue in color. Mix the solution four parts water to one part cleaner in a spray bottle. Lightly spray some on a clean, soft cloth and wipe. This cleaner can be used to clean any wood finished with a urethane top coat.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clean one small area of the wood flooring at one time. Wipe the floor without spreading a large amount of liquid. Dry the floor immediately with another cloth to make the floor shiny. To avoid water spots, don't allow wood flooring to get too wet.
