Things You'll Need:
- Many, many scarves Safety pins Curtain rod
-
Step 1
Measure the length of the window you want to cover to determine how many scarves you will need. You may need to purchase more scarves so that your curtain will fit the design scheme you want.
-
Step 2
Gather up all of your scarves. Select the colors and designs you want to use for your curtains. Because this is a no-sew project, you can use scarves that you want to wear again, without fear of ruining them.
-
Step 3
Select the scarves that are the right length to cover your window. If a scarf is too short, consider tying on another scarf to one end to add extra length. If a scarf is too long, you can cut and add a finishing hem to keep the ends looking clean.
-
Step 4
Arrange your scarves in your desired order. You may want to follow a certain color pattern or print scheme---the choice is yours.
-
Step 5
Loosely tie your scarves to the proper curtain rod for your window. A simple square knot works fine, but feel free to double knot for extra stability. Fasten each scarf to the adjacent scarf with a safety pin so that your curtains can be drawn easily.
