Step 1
Drink a lot of water. This is a smart idea anyway, but in the case of detoxing from marijuana, getting a lot of water is a must. One of the main things this does is help flush the body of impurities. The American Council on Exercise recommends drinking 2.7 liters a day for women and 3.7 liters a day for men. To help further promote detoxing, make sure to reach and even exceed this amount every day.
-
Step 2
Sweat it out. Being that toxins are stored in fat, excessive sweating is an effective way to speed the elimination process. This helps draw toxins and impurities from the body. A good way to do this is to visit a sauna. Or if you are experienced in yoga, a hot yoga studio would do the trick as well. In either case, make sure to be very hydrated before, during and immediately after.
-
Step 3
Drink special teas. There are some special detox teas that have been known to be effective at cleaning marijuana out of the system. These can be found at health food stores, online and at health food sections of regular grocery stores.
-
Step 4
Alkaline vegetables.Try to become alkaline. The body has a pH balance that registers on a scale from zero to 14. The ideal place to be is around 7.6, which is right around the center point. Getting the body alkaline helps to detox the system, and it can be done completely naturally by eating the right foods. Some foods that are highly alkaline are kale, collards, baby spinach, avocados, lemons, limes, cucumbers, celery and sprouts.
-
Step 5
Avoid acidic foods. On the other side of the pH spectrum is acid. Foods that are high in acid cause toxicity in the body and this would delay the elimination process. Some specific foods to avoid are coffee, soda, candy, cookies, commercial baked goods, deep fried foods, animal fats, cheese, milk and ice cream.
