Remove Hot Glue From Carpet

It is wise to use extreme caution when handling hot glue as it has a tendency to leave a terrible mess on whatever it touches. As hot glue dries, it hardens into a spot on the carpet that just won't budge. Many have resorted to cutting this spot free from the carpet, but before the scissors and razor blades are taken to the carpet, there is another way.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Iron Cloth Alcohol Lighter

    One Option

  1. Step 1

Place a cloth over the hot glue spot on the carpet.

  2. Step 2

Run a hot iron over the cloth. The glue should begin to transfer from the carpet to the cloth.

  3. Step 3

Repeat this process until all the glue is gone.

  4. One More Option

  5. Step 1

Heat up the glue. Hold a lighter close to the glue, being very careful not to set the carpet on fire.

  6. Step 2

As the glue melts, wipe it away with a cloth soaked in alcohol.

  7. Step 3

Repeat this until all the glue is gone.
