DECISION: First decide if you are putting the Hello Kitty birthday cupcakes together entirely or if you are providing them to the kids and then they are decorating them. If they are doing it, prepare all the following assorted candies in little bowls or bags so it goes more smoothly at the party then have the kids follow the instructions below. Otherwise, read below to find out how to put together these great cupcakes!

PREPARATION: Bake the cupcakes you need for your child's birthday! White cupcakes are ideal. Then frost with white frosting.

3
FACE: Place two Brown M&Ms with the "M" side face down (not visible) spaced slightly more apart than usual, because Hello Kitty's eyes are spaced apart on her face. Then place the Yellow M&M face down for her nose.

WHISKERS: Take the chocolate Pocky sticks and cut carefully with a knife (you might have to use a saw motion to cut them straight across) so they aren't too long but are long enough to resemble whiskers that protrude out from the cupcake. Press them down into the frosting. If you cannot find chocolate Pocky sticks (in the Asian foods section of your local drugstore or grocery store), use Tootsie rolls or pretzel sticks that have been covered in melted chocolate and then cut down to size.

BOW/EARS: Cut the vanilla wafer sandwich cookies into triangles and place on the frosting for Hello Kitty's ears. Then take two pink Good N Plenty candies and place on the right side (as you're looking down at the cupcakes) just below one ear to resemble Hello Kitty's cute pink bow.
You are done!

Tips & Warnings
This could also be created as one big Hello Kitty birthday cake! Just bake a cake into round cake pans and frost and decorate the same way.
These will be hard to eat because they are so cute!
