Tips & Warnings
  • Before you try a supplement, keep in mind that medical research is still being done regarding the benefits and effects of herbs on the body. Herbal remedies are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. The amount of the active ingredient may vary from pill to pill. And herbs may have side effects, which can be especially serious if herbs are combined with other medications. If you use herbs on a regular basis, inform your doctor and find out as much information as possible about any side effects, dosages, and long-term effects. Finally remember that a healthy diet and regular exercise can benefit body and mind as much, if not more, than herbal remedies.
