Know your Selfworth
Know your Selfworth

Sometimes we inexplicably and unexpectedly feel like we are not worthy. It doesn't help that we feel that way when our so called "friends" or even, "family" don't call us like they used to. At this point we might begin to wonder if it's something about ourselves that's pushing everyone away, as if we simply just aren't worthy as human beings to have meaningful relationships and friendships. I'm going to tell you right now, why all of the things you've just read about you are wrong.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yourself
  1. Step 1

If you've been trying to force yourself on everyone stop trying. What I mean by this is if you are the one always calling or e-mailing everyone else, or the only one always trying to keep in touch. Why should you be the one putting in all the effort when no one wants to give even half in return? You are better than that. Declare right now that the only person you will be trying to force yourself on is you.

  2. Step 2

Focus on yourself and the things that make you happy instead of trying to find happiness in everyone else. Do something that you love; put on some headphones and paint or draw something, write some poetry, act out your favorite scene in a movie, dance to the music you like, go on a shopping spree...spend time on yourself. Appreciate yourself because you deserve it!

  3. Step 3

Spend some time meditating. Meditation is the best way to get right to the root of self worth because it enlightens you to a higher state of your existence, helps you find your inner peace and sense of well being. Not only that, but once you find that absolute peace, everything else will fall into place and people will begin to gravitate towards you without you needing to make a single effort. ;)

on 3/28/2009 What a wonderful article about appreciate yourself. Number 2 is something that I gave up as of 2009 and a lot of people got mad at me. Reciprocity is the key in relationships and if you aren't getting back, you have to stop giving so much.
