- Tub of Hot Soapy Water
- Rag

http://www.fotosearch.com/photos-images/soap.htmlIn the hot soapy water, put a small amount of dish washing detergent and/or washing powder. Then open the blinds and let them open fully. A partner is helpful at this time. Let the blinds soak. After the detergent has time to break down the dust and dirt, take a rag and wipe the blinds on both sides to make sure the layer of dust and dirt that has been broken down wipes off.

http://www.fotosearch.com/photos-images/soap.htmlLet the water drain, if it is a bath/tub combo, rinse with the shower for a few minutes.

Let the blinds drain for a couple of minutes. Afterwards you can put them on a towel to completely drain of the water. If they are still wet you can spot wipe them with a towel. Then put them back up knowing they are clean and you used gentle things to wash them with. My mother loved cleaning our blinds during spring cleaning.
