Removing stickers or decals off your car is easy. Just be careful not to scratch the car or glass.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • sharp razor blade
  • degreaser
  • special solution
  • soap and water
  • rag
  1. Step 1

Removing a decal off your decal requires a special solution. You can find these in most car departments at the store. They are labelled as bug and tar remover or window tint solution. You can also use a special solvent called a degreaser (they sell this at Walmart, it is purple, and found with the mops). Otherwise, just use warm soap and water - but this is a lot harder.

  2. Step 2

Once you soak the sticker, try to pull it off. Go very slowly to keep it all in one piece. If the sticker is on the outside glass, use a razor to scrape it off. Go in slow even strokes to remove the sticker, don't rub the razor back and forth.

If the sticker is on the inside on top of window tint do not use a razor or you will destroy your tint. Just try to pull it and use more and more solution until the glue is dissolved and you can pull the sticker off.

Do not use a razor on your bumper or paint. Use a window cleaner squeegie or plastic knife to help assist removal.

  3. Step 3

Once you get the paper off, there is some glue left. Use more of your solution or bug and tar remover to get it off. Apply the solution and gently rub with a soft rag.

  4. Step 4

    That's it - easy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Pull the sticker off very slowly to get it in one piece.
  • Do not use sharp tools on your paint job or push sharp edges heavily into any surface (they might break the surface)
  • Wear gloves is you use a razor blade
  • Do not use any acids or bases or abrasive chemicals (ajax) on your car or else you will have a lot of ugly scratches.
