Things You'll Need:
- 2 lbs Strawberries (2 - 16oz cartons)
- 8 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
- 12 oz. white almond bark
- Wax paper
- Cookie sheet
- Vegetable oil
- 2 Microwaveable bowls
- Toothpicks
-
Step 1
To begin your quest of making chocolate tuxedo strawberries, you need to begin by carefully rinsing the strawberries and then patting them dry with paper towels. If you let them dry for 1-2 hours, the chocolate will probably stick a little better.
-
Step 2
Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
-
Step 3
Place 4-5 almond bark chunks in a microwaveable bowl and microwave for about 1 minute and then stir. Continue to microwave the almond bark in 15-20 second intervals, stirring after each, until the almond bark is smooth.
-
Step 4
Holding the strawberries by the green stems, dip them into the almond bark all the way up to the leaves. Place the strawberry onto the cookie sheet.
-
Step 5
After you have dipped all of the strawberries into the almond bark, set them in the freezer for about 2 minutes so the chocolate can be hardened.
-
Step 6
Place 1/2 to 1 cup of chocolate chips into microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute and then stir. Continue to microwave in 15-20 second intervals, stirring after each one, until the chocolate chips have melted.
-
Step 7
To form the tuxedo of the chocolate tuxedo strawberries, you'll need to dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate chips on the left and right sides to form a "V" shape on the front (the flattest side). Place the strawberry onto the cookie sheet. Repeat for all remaining strawberries.
-
Step 8
To finish off the little guys, dip a toothpick into the melted chocolate and gently make 3 dots of chocolate - which will form the buttons.
-
Step 9
Again, place the strawberries in the freezer for about 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. If you won't be eating them right away, you can store them in the refrigerator to keep them cool.
