Spring Break Cruise

Spring break is right around the corner. Still needs plans? Consider going on a spring break cruise. In the off season cruises are one of the most economical ways to travel and experience warm weather. Your food and on-ship entertainment are completely included. The closer it gets to the cruise date the steeper the booking discount. Following are some tips to book a great spring break cruise and have a vacation to remember.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Know-how
  1. Step 1

Figure out your vacation budget. Once you know how much you (and your friends) are willing to spend you will have a better idea of what kind of cruise you are looking for. You would not want one person to be unable to attend due to finances.

  2. Step 2

Decide the length of your cruise. 3,5 and 7 day cruises are most popular. If you don't want to miss any class you will most likely want to consider a 3 or 5 day cruise. Most major cruise lines offer all three options.

  3. Step 3

You will now need to research Cruise lines. The top companies are: Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian, and Celebrity Cruise Lines. Not all companies will have "sail dates" that meet your needs. Don't get discouraged.

Note: It is wise to look at the companies and their available sail dates before picking a location. Many companies only sail to certain destinations at specific times throughout the year.

  4. Step 4

Ask your friends and family members who have cruised with the different companies what the "feel" of the ship was. You would not want to end up on a ship that was geared towards an older crowd or was very family oriented. Carnival cruise lines are considered the "fun ships" and are very popular for spring breakers.

  5. Step 5

Once you have narrowed down your options to a few choices speak to your friends and solidify your final top 3 spring break cruise picks. Call each company and ask if they are willing to offer you any additional bonuses, upgrades or freebies if you book with them today. Most companies will.

  6. Step 6

Book your cruise and start planning. You may want to book excursions, or off the ship activities, at an additional price. These book very fast so decide quickly. Have fun!

Tips & Warnings
  • Research, research, research. You want to book with a reputable company, preferably with a cancellation policy.
  • Safety First - do not pack alcohol in your suitcase.
