Step 1
If after eating from the buffet, you are forced to spend the rest of the cruise emptying the contents of your stomach into the toilet. The Norovirus can strike quite easily on cruise ships because of the large number of people that are in a relatively small space. Named after an outbreak that happened in Norwalk, Ohio, Noroviruses affect the stomach and intestines. Symptoms are similar to the flu. Help prevent contracting this by washing your hands thoroughly with hot water and soap! Avoid food that has not been cooked well, and don't sharing utensils or drinking glasses.
-
Step 2
If you're asked to sign a contract before taking your cruise, which releases the cruise line of any liability should anything happen, and which states they do not guarantee any of their services! And if you don't sign it, you are not allowed to board the ship. Be sure to always read any contact all the way through, even the small print, before signing.
-
Step 3
If cruise ship company staff paint near your room, causing fumes to engulf the air and causing your body to react such that you can't breathe! Then the staff is not quick to act to move you to another room. In general, poor customer service on cruise ships can happen at any point in time. Many people do enjoy their experience on a cruise. If you encounter someone who is not willing to work with you, speak with another employee or a manager.
-
Step 4
If pirates attack your cruise ship! Causing either injury or death, violence, or your ship to be rerouted somewhere else in a hurry. Should this happen, try to hide within the deep recesses of the cruise ship and call authorities if possible!
-
Step 5
If you, your friends or family, or frankly any passengers disappear into thin air! Oftentimes people fall or are pushed overboard. If you feel there is someone suspicious traveling on board the same cruise ship as you, contact authorities and do not travel alone anywhere on the ship.

on 2/19/2009 Although we didn't have anything 'terrible' happen when we went on a cruise, we also didn't have a great time. Hubby and I are keeping our feet on the ground instead! Thanks for sharing!
