Step 1
The first idea for your cheap spring break with kids is to grow some butterflies I have an article on how to do this for cheap in the resource section below. This is fun and very exciting for kids. They get to watch them from eggs to butterflies and then release the butterflies.
-
Step 2
The second is to rent movies from your local library. This is free. They could pick up a book while they are there to.
-
Step 3
The third idea for a cheep spring break is have your kids through a spring break party with some other kids. They can make the decorations, food and invitations. Use this as a budget experience and give them a set dollar amount. They can cost things out and be in control of what they eat, drink and do at the party with your suggestions of course just remember that this is their project and the final decision is there’s. This will keep them busy for a few days.
-
Step 4
Go on a day trip some were close to were you live. I live in Phoenix so I would go to Sedona. Find a waterfall or pretty outdoor place a couple hours away and pack a cooler so you don’t need to buy food out and hit the road.
-
Step 5
Here is a good cheap spring break activity for the whole family go, fishing or camping or both. If you already have all the stuff all you need to do is pack a cooler and go.
-
Step 6
The last cheap spring break idea for kids is to take them on a hike or bicycle ride. You can map out new places to go that you have never been. Make goals to go and hike a certain number of hikes.

on 2/27/2009 I'm a college student who doesn't have any kids, but I still found this article very useful - lots of the stuff inside can be done without children! Thanks! 5*.

on 2/20/2009 Great ideas, thanks. We do a lot of camping, even if it is our own back yard!
