This is a recipe for Goulash like my Grandma made it. It is a delicious, easy, thrifty recipe that the whole family will love!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • hamburger
  • tomato sauce
  • box of Macaroni noodles
  • 1 Onion
  • shredded cheese
  • frozen corn
  • seasonings
  1. Step 1

First you will start by frying up around 1 pound (or more or less depending on how much meat you like) of ground beef. I like to use sirloin beef as it has a lot of flavor but less grease, but you can use any variety.

  2. Step 2

While you are frying up your meat, it is a good time to start boiling the water for your macaroni noodles. I add a pinch of salt to the water to flavor the noodles. When the water is up to a rapid boil, I add the whole box of a medium box of noodles. Of course you will use more or less depending on how many you are feeding.

  3. Step 3

When your meat is cooked, you will add 2 cans of tomato sauce to the meat. Then I chop up one medium sized onion and add it to the meat and sauce in the frying pan. Now I add about half a package of frozen corn to the pan. Now season the mixture with a pinch of salt, pepper and garlic powder. I let the ingredients cook for a little while on low to medium heat.

  4. Step 4

Now I drain the noodles once they are done. Add the noodles to a casserole dish. After I add the noodles to the dish, I then start to pour my meat, sauce, onion and corn mixture into the noodles. Stir them all together until they are nicely mixed.

  5. Step 5

Now that your casserole is all mixed together, you will place it into a 350 degree oven for about a half hour to 40 minutes. During the last 5 or ten minutes it is baking you can top with shredded cheese of any variety.

  6. Step 6

Now, you are ready to sit down around the table with your family, and enjoy a hearty, homemade casserole. You can serve this with a nice green salad, and garlic bread for side dishes!
