We all strive to create romantic and memorable moments with those we love. Special days and events bring an added desire to create that couple connection. As my own one year anniversary approached I considered a variety of possibilities.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Creativity
  • Flexibility
  • Rose Petals
  • Wine
  • Favorite Spot You've Shared Together
  1. Step 1

Consider going to the same place you went on your first date or a place you both find romantic.

  2. Step 2
    Rain Spa Shower

Consider what will make you happy as a couple for this occasion.

  3. Step 3

Be creative, surprise your significant other with rose petals on the bed or in the bath water.

  4. Step 4
Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches with Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Ice Cream

Think about your budget and what you can afford. Is dinner out your most viable option? If so focus on a place you both enjoy. Consider making a special treat for later, such as these quick and easy homemade ice cream sandwiches.

  5. Step 5

If your finances allow for a night away this is a wonderful option for a deeper connection and a way to forget your day to day responsibilities. Even choosing a nearby location is an escape. What I have come to realize is just being away from the phone, house, chores and bills is the decompressor that brings couple closeness to another level. If you feel so inclined share a full body massage experience. The closeness of this will bring your anniversary date to another level of intimacy.

  6. Step 6

Create a coupon book of favors you will do for your significant other, some for romance or pleasure, others for something unexpected that they will appreciate not having to do, such a week of trash duty.

Tips & Warnings
  • Talk to your significant other and share your ideas about what you would enjoy doing on your anniversary.
  • Be flexible and focused. If your partner is not interested in the planning, keep it within reason so you have a relaxed evening as well as your partner.
