Things You'll Need:
- Shoes (heel should be around what you think you will wear)
- Underwear (a lot of ladies forget to wear them)
- Bra/strapless or full line
-
Step 1
Research what kind of wedding dress you want. Get a couple of magazines and earmark the pages of the dresses you like. Go to the bridal salon's web page and see what kind of dresses they have. You can print them out.
-
Step 2
Call the salon and arrange for an appointment. Saturdays are normally the busiest day of the week.
-
Step 3
Arrive on time and try to bring a couple of people. Too large of a group and there are way too many opinions. A sales consultant will help you in and out of your dresses (this is where underwear becomes important). Most places will have bras and slips for you to try on but sometimes if you are an unusual bra size, its best to bring your own. A full length bra works best. Also, if you know what size heel - bring a shoe that is close. This way, you can get an idea of how much hemming a dress will need. Try not to wear too much make up as it can get onto the dresses or the consultant will instruct you to put your hands over your face.
-
Step 4
Have fun. Have the sales consultant find you a few dress styles you might not try on. Remember the dresses on the rack may have gotten stretched from a lot of people trying them on so the size you order might be a different size.
