Step 1
Theme it around a holiday! For Halloween/fall carve pumpkins- Baby insert the month and year! Or carve out baby theme items, such as a bottle, rubber duck, or a pacifier. Or Congratulations to the new grandparents, aunt, or uncle!

For Thanksgiving create a memorable table decoration- a family of pilgrims or turkeys with your name on them!, dye dinner rolls pink and blue or mashed potatoes. It will keep guests talking and then you can reveal the news in a family prayer.

For Christmas- give your parents a framed ultrasound picture, grandma and grandpa mug, shirt, ornament etc.. For a brother or sister reads "aunt, uncle, or cousins (if they have children)" and then reveal the news in the card or frame. Give out blue and pink Christmas cookies or ornaments. Or reveal Baby ___ insert date in Christmas lights in your lawn or on a fence. Or write it in your Christmas card.

Near Easter, fill up a basket full of plastic eggs and place the revealing news inside!

Make a personalized magazine cover, mug, family calendar (with due date on it!), mouse pad, puzzle etc... using pictures that reveal the message. Walgreens and Walmart have low cost personalized photo gifts or check out a multitude of websites that now offer low cost gifts.

Create a cute video using your cell phone, digital camera, or video recorder and send it out. Add twists, like we are getting a new member to the family and pretend it to be a new puppy and then bring on the big reveal! Or show clips of the nursery to be.

Have family or friends over for dinner and reveal the secret in fortune cookies! Or on a special dessert after dinner.
