How to cook a NY Strip Steak to perfection.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1
Butter Egg Noodles (as a side dish)

It is important that you cook your steak properly. You always want to make sure that you don't over cook because the steak can become dry and hard to chew. I normally choose New York Strip Steak because it is tender and lean. You can also try the recipe with a Porterhouse or T-Bone steak. The more expensive cut of meet the more tender it will be.

  2. Step 2
Idaho Baked Potato with Butter & Sour Cream (goes great with steak).

In a large skillet place 1/2 stick of butter, when butter begins to melt add steak, make sure you keep skillet on medium or about 300 degrees. Add sliced onion and Mushroom to skillet. Simmer steak, onions, and mushrooms for about 10 minutes, turn steak to other side for an additional 10 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Turn skillet off, let stand for about 5 minutes. Remove steak, mushrooms and onions and serve. You can add a cup of red wine to skillet and simmer steak, mushrooms and onions for the same amount of time. You can serve steak with baked potatoes, or egg noodles. Enjoy!
