Make soup! Soup is one of the best dishes to make and enjoy when the weather gets a little cooler. Grab your favorite recipe or try a new one and spend a couple of hours make a big pot of soup and keep it warming on the stove top so that you could grab seconds and thirds throughout the day.
If you think that a hearty soup may be too heavy and put you to sleep, then lighten it up with more vegetables, this will be a healthy treat and oh-so-comforting on those cold winter days. -
Step 2
Watch extra long movies. If you're snowed in or you just can't bear the thought of leaving the house when it is raining or snowing outside, then pull out those extra long trilogies or epic adventure movies that you haven't watched in ages.
Curl up in the dark with the sound of the rain as some added ambiance and enjoy a marathon of entertainment. Or if you have a TV series that you love, pull out your favorite season and pop some popcorn and enjoy! -
Step 3
There are lots of things to do on a rainy day like finish the book you are reading. When it is cold and unwelcoming outside, then transport yourself to another world and curl up with a favorite book or finish reading a book. Time will certainly fly when you are engrossed in the fantastical worlds of a good book.

Step 4
Exercise your brain. If the rain is ruining your work out routine and you can't possibly go running in this weather, then switch gears and exercise your brain with puzzles and word games.
Print out some Sudoku or crossword puzzle from the internet and make a cup of tea. This will keep you busy and keep your mind sharp. -
Step 5
Bake cookies! There's always a useful way to warm up a chilly household and that is to cook! Baking cookies will keep you busy and give you a nice treat for all of your work. Not to mention having your house smell so yummy and delicious!
