Ever dreamed of making a firecracker so big and so loud it set off alarms a quarter mile away? Well a simple firecracker that can take less than 5 bucks to build can give you that pleasure.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Electrical tape (a lot)
  • Sparklers (Colored kind, not gold)
  • A lot of free space
  1. Step 1

The first thing you will need to do is buy a bunch of colored sparklers. Make sure the sparklers are not gold as these burn slower than colored. Normally the colored sparklers are the cheaper ones and come in a box labeled "colored sparklers". The more sparklers you put into your bomb, the bigger the bang!

  2. Step 2

Once you have as many sparklers as your heart desires (usually 25 or so is sufficient for a big bang, some people use hundreds or even thousands though), lay them all out on a piece of newspaper on a table or the floor. Get a roll of electrical tape, or if you have a bunch of sparklers, several rolls.

  3. Step 3

Bunch all of the sparklers together in a cylinder fashion and make sure they are even from top to bottom. Cut off the sticks with scissors and push one sparkler up (this will be used as the fuse) and start wrapping all the sparklers from top to bottom and back down again tightly with the electrical tape. Wrap it many times (usually about 10 times up and down will do).

  4. Step 4

Seal off the top and bottom of the sparkler so all that shows is the fuse and nothing else. Remember, if the bomb is not fully sealed off, then the sparkler bomb may not explode or will just produce a lot of sparks. (Which can be a plus for some people).

  5. Step 5

Once your bomb is created, find a large open area away from trees, grass, bushes, houses, or anything that might catch on fire. Light it and run as far away as possible. Usually the fuse takes a while to light and you should try to use that time to get away as quick as possible.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure everything is sealed off and only the fuse is sticking out. If any air escapes, the explosion will not be worth while.
  • Be very careful, it is essentially a very high explosive and injuries can result. I am in no way responsible for the misuse of sparkler bombs and the resulting injuries.
