What better way to show your patriotism than by displaying fireworks on your website? And not just any fireworks, but some you made yourself. And it's perfectly safe as well. You will be making these fireworks inside Photoshop.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photoshop
  1. Step 1

Open a new document in Photoshop. Make the size whatever you want it to be. Select the Fill tool, and fill the canvas with black. Go to the Layers panel and create a new layer.

  2. Step 2

Select the #9 Brush. Go to windows, and open the Brushes palette. Select Shape Dynamics. Change the control to Fade, and set it to 200.

  3. Step 3

Select the Pen tool. Go to the canvas and begin drawing in the lines that will form your fireworks explosion. Start at the outside of the explosion and work inward to the explosion point. Use the Add Points tool to add points and the Convert Points Tool to adjust the curve by moving the Bezier handles. When you finish a line, right click and select Stroke Path. Then right click and select Delete Path.

  4. Step 4

Continue this process until you have something like the image.

  5. Step 5

Go to the bottom of the Layers panel and click Add Layer Style, and select Blending Options. Click on Inner Glow; make it Normal, Opacity 100, and Range 90. Leave other settings alone.

  6. Step 6

Click on Outer Glow, change the color to a red, the Opacity to 90, and the Size to 100.

  7. Step 7

Go to Filters, select Render and then Lens Flare. Place the lens flare at the point of the explosion. Make the settings 50-300mm Zoom and Brightness to 40. Then go to Render and Lighting Effects, and set the Intensity to 21 and the Ambiance to 21. And there it is. You can take this further by adding more layers with other colors.
