Step 1
If you are giving the basket to parents who have never cloth diapered before, purchase two or three different styles of cloth diaper so that mom and dad have the opportunity to experiment. There are:
1. Flats that need to be folded, pinned and covered;
2. Prefolds that need to be pinned and covered;
3. Fitted that are not waterproofed (they are shaped like a disposable diaper) and need covers and
4. All-in-one diapers that are fitted and are waterproofed so that they don't need a cover.
If you are doing a gift basket for parents who have experience with cloth diapering, find out if they have a style that they would like to try and add those to the basket. -
Step 2
Many parents use "wet bags" to hold wet and soiled diapers when on the go or in diaper pails. They are waterproofed and can be washed. Add a few of these to the gift basket and mom and dad will be so grateful!
-
Step 3
If you are giving diapers that are not waterproofed, you will want to add a few diaper covers. You can find many different styles and colors of covers from wool to breathable nylon. If you choose to give wool diaper covers, add a bar of wool soap so that mom and dad don't have to worry about purchasing it.
-
Step 4
Send a natural washing detergent or laundry booster is important since baby's tender bum will be wearing these diapers around the clock. Soap nuts are also a wonderful gift to give instead of detergent since they are 100% plant.
-
Step 5
Lavender essential oil is wonderful to have for parents who soak diapers in a pail before washing, for diaper pails and for baby's bum! Make sure that you are purchasing a pure lavender oil.
-
Step 6
Assemble all the items in a basket and tie a bow around the basket and you have a thoughtful and wonderful baby gift basket for mom and dad!
