How to Flirt on Facebook

Flirting on Facebook can be as simple as clicking the mouse a few times.

Flirting is a natural way to let someone know that you are interested in them, beyond being just platonic friends. Using social media sites, such as Facebook, makes flirting a more instantaneous and wide-scale endeavor. In fact, you don't need to go to school with, live near or even remotely know someone to flirt with that person on Facebook. Flirting on Facebook, when done in moderation, can be one way to meet new people and possibly find a new person to date or hang out with.

Instructions

1. Set up or update your personal Facebook page. Make sure your page lists your full name. Fill out the information tab associated with your account to include information about yourself such as your favorite musicians, food, travel destinations or hobbies. Provide some details about yourself so that the person you are flirting with will get to see a little bit about you.

2. Upload recent pictures of yourself to your Facebook account. Make sure to include head shots and pictures of you doing things or visiting places of interest to you. This will help the person you are flirting with get a better feel for the type of person you are. Avoid using edited or altered pictures to misrepresent yourself.

3. Send a friend request to the person you are flirting with. Wait for a response. If you have not been accepted as a friend after a few days, access the person's Facebook page and click on the button to send a message to the person. Use the message as a second request to become friends.

4. Once you have become friends with the person, poke them by using the "poke" feature available on Facebook. Wait for the person to poke you back and repeat the process. This is a way to continually flirt. Make sure to send messages, post on the person's wall or instant message the person after every few pokes to keep the flirting active. When posting on your crush's wall, think of upbeat and entertaining videos or photos they might like. Remember things they have said about their interests, and mirror these topics by posting new tidbits of information about their interests for them to enjoy.

5. Instant message the person when you see them online. Keep the conversations short and simple. Ask how the person is, if they have any plans for the weekend or if they want to talk on the phone.

6. Comment on postings and photos of the person. Make sure to use the like button for postings made by the person and comment positively on pictures and links listed by the person on their Facebook wall.
